Trapper-Explorer Level Scholarship

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS NOT A MONETARY SCHOLARSHIP. CLICK FOR DETAILS.

This Trapper notification is simply NWC’s method to communicate to you the anticipated amount of NWC Private Donor scholarship you may receive at a later date. If you receive a Private Donor award announcement in the spring, this dollar amount will be removed from your application. The Private Donor announcement will replace this Trapper level.

Trapper-Explorer Level Scholarships are available to students who did not enroll at NWC the semester immediately after earning a GED/HiSET/TASC, completion of a home school program, or high school graduation and/or those students who have not remained consecutively enrolled at NWC each semester. To qualify, students must have a final GPA of at least a 2.5 from their last school attended, or if never attended before, Pre-2014 GED test recipients must have a score of at least 500, Post-2014 GED test recipients must have a score of at least 157, HiSET test recipients must have an average score of at least 12, and Homeschooled students must have an ACT score of at least 19 (TASC recipients: contact the Financial Aid Office). Students must successfully complete (defined as A, B, C, D, P, or S) a minimum of 12 credit hours at the conclusion of the student’s academic year (fall & spring semesters added together). Eligible recipients receive one-half of their academic year Trapper scholarship each semester with spring semester funding eligibility dependent upon their fall semester GPA (min of 2.0 required at end of fall semester). Students must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least a 2.0 at mid-year (end of each fall semester), and then at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA after the conclusion of each spring semester to qualify for Trapper scholarships for the next academic year. Students may qualify for higher level Trapper Scholarships (Presidential, Excellence, or Achievement level scholarships) during their next academic year, if they successfully completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at the end of the academic year (fall and spring semesters added together) and if they earned the required GPA for those levels. Students must complete the online scholarship application each year to be considered for NWC Scholarships.
