Tyler Yates Scholarship

Growing up in rural Wyoming, higher education often felt out of reach, especially as a first-generation college student. Northwest College was a place where Tyler could truly be himself and explore his aspirations for life. During his time at Northwest College, scholarship support allowed him to pursue an education that would shape his future. Tyler studied Business Administration at NWC, earned a BA in IT Management, and a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. Today, he works and lives in Salt Lake City as the Director of Internal Operations at Earnest, a FinTech focused on financially empowering ambitious professionals. Having directly benefited from this support, establishing a scholarship was a natural way for him to give back. The cost of education remains one of the greatest barriers for many students, and this scholarship aims to help overcome that challenge. Tyler believes that access to education is a great equalizer and appreciates how NWC supports both its students and the community it serves.
