Tami Fischer Brech Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Tami Fischer Brech Memorial Scholarship Endowment

When Alan and Linda Fischer lost their daughter to Ovarian Cancer, in 2004, her friends suggested that they start a scholarship fund in her memory. Tami had majored in Elementary education and graduated from the University of Arizona with a 4.0 while going through chemo and surgeries. Given her major and her time at Northwest College, they decided to award a scholarship in elementary education in her name each year.
Both of the Fischer’s children attended NWC on scholarships. When funding Tami’s scholarship endowment, they received matching funds from the State of Wyoming and from Tami’s husband’s company, Ratheon. Every year the endowment grows, allowing the family to award more scholarships. To raise additional money for the fund, Linda Fisher, Tami’s mother, sells crafts and gives the proceeds to Ratheon to match.
