NIck and Madelyn Morris Nursing Scholarship Endowment

Dr. Nick Morris and his wife Madelyn, a registered nurse, dedicated their lives to the medical profession. With strong ties to the local community, its people, and its hospitals, they were committed to the sustainability of the medical workforce in the Big Horn Basin. They understood the tremendous impact nursing has on successful outcomes in healthcare. With an aging workforce and nursing shortages predicted for the future, the Morrises felt compelled to encourage dedicated individuals to enter the field of nursing. As an RN, Madelyn in particular saw the need to encourage future nursing students to look at the growing opportunities.
Nick and Madelyn worked closely with students for many years, and appreciated the challenges students face when entering the healthcare profession. Their scholarship aims at helping traditional and non-traditional nursing students pursue their dreams of entering the medical profession.
In Madelyn’s own words, “NWC has a long history and strong tradition of providing highly skilled and well qualified nursing professionals to the local hospital settings, and we feel privileged to partner with NWC to support this critical workforce with our scholarship.”
