Moyer Memorial Scholarship Endowment

This scholarship endowment honors the Moyer family’s enduring commitment to education. The scholarship was established through the Moyer Community Foundation which traces its roots to Willard Moyer, a long-time Powell pharmacist who established the foundation in 1997 following his retirement.
Willard’s connection to Northwest College reflects a deep personal family story. In December 1964, Willard and his wife, Gussie, lost their only child, Harold Paul Moyer, along with his wife Kathleen, and their infant son Steven in a tragic auto accident near Big Timber, Montana as the young family was traveling home to Powell for the holidays. Willard and Gussie never had the opportunity to meet their grandson.
As Willard’s heart healed, he chose to honor his family by committing the fruits of his lifelong career to the betterment of Powell and its residents. That legacy continues today through the Moyer Foundation which supports charitable, educational and other causes in Powell and beyond.
The Moyer Memorial Scholarship extends that legacy to NWC students. This scholarship helps provide affordable college education to full-time students who are residents of the Big Horn Basin. Applicants must have completed at least one semester at NWC and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA with preference given to pre pharmacy majors.
