Marianna (Howard) Daley Mathews Scholarship

Marianna (Mari) Howard Daley Mathews always met challenges with determination and dignity. Returning to college and becoming a pharmacist was how she met the challenge of being widowed at the age of 32 with a drugstore to run and 3 small children to raise. As an integral part of the day to day operation of the drugstore, she became active in the Wyoming Pharmaceutical Association where she was the first woman to serve as President. She also served on the Powell Hospital Board for many years, and was active in numerous other civic organizations. The Marianna H. Daley Mathews scholarship was established to honor Mari’s memory and to assist other women who are faced with challenges later in life to help women succeed as Mari did.
