Jeanie Good Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Jeanie Good had wanted to be a nurse for as long as she could remember. As a child she cared for family members with scarlet fever and tularemia. After graduating from Greybull high school, she enlisted in the Army with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. As a registered nurse she worked for over half a century, in private practices and in Cody hospitals. She cared for burn victims and surgical patients, delivered babies and helped save lives. For Jeanie Good nursing was more than a job, it was a calling. Jeanie’s entire life was spent in the service of others. In her memory, Jeanie’s family established the Jeanie Good Memorial Nursing Scholarship in the hope it will provide a similar opportunity to other residents of the Big Horn Basin with dreams of starting a nursing career. NWC is an essential entry point into the world of higher education for many residents of the Big Horn Basin and Jeanie was proud to call it home. Higher education opens doors and allows dreams to become reality. The family hopes this scholarship opens doors for a hardworking student on their way to earning their RN designation.
