James W. Riley Memorial Scholarship Endowment
This scholarship was created to honor the life, legacy, and impact of James Whitcomb Riley Jr., a devoted educator, mentor, longtime advocate for students at Northwest College.
In 1977, Jim joined the faculty at NWC, where he taught speech, forensics, and debate for nearly three decades. Known for his passion for teaching and commitment to student growth, he influenced generations of students through the classroom, competitive forensics, and personal mentorship. In recognition of his service, Jim was honored with Professor Emeritus status upon his retirement in 2005. He passed away in late 2008, but his legacy continues through the lives he touched, and the students supported in his memory.
This scholarship provides financial assistance to full-time Northwest College students who have completed at least 30 credit hours, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and are residents of Wyoming or Montana.
