Gary "Eric the Great" Erickson Scholarship Endowment

Gary Erickson was one of the most prolific scorers in Utah basketball history and an All American. A father of three boys who were heavily involved in athletics growing up, they all wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps and be like him. One of those sons, Brian, has a long history at Northwest College, serving as head men’s basketball coach and eventually the Athletic Director. The reason for creating this scholarship was to honor Gary’s legacy and basketball career and to give NWC student athletes an affordable opportunity to pursue a degree. This scholarship is for full-time students participating in intercollegiate athletics as members of one of NWC’s teams. Students’ eligibility will be determined by the respective team coach, in addition to complying with the NJCAA or NIRA academic eligibility rules.
