First Generation Student Scholarship Endowment

Allan and Cindy Childs invested many years of work as employees at Northwest College – he as a chemistry faculty member and she in student support services, primarily as the TRiO grant manager. As first-generation students themselves, they understood the need for personal guidance. Through the years, they also observed that non-traditional students often had greater financial need. When the NWC Foundation had matching funds available from the State of Wyoming, they felt it was an opportunity not to be missed. Their scholarship has grown nicely, and through it they are able to see students learn and develop and become successful while enjoying their retirement.
