Eyob Robirds Forever Kind Endowed Scholarship
Eyob James Nigatu Robirds arrived in Powell, Wyoming as a seven year old from Ethiopia, Africa in 2006. Equipped with a joyful smile, an immense amount of resilience and a boundless capacity for kindness, Eyob embarked on a difficult and rewarding journey that changed countless lives, both in Powell and in Ethiopia. An employee at Northwest College for nearly six years before passing away unexpectedly at 26 years old, Eyob was known for his work ethic, bright smile and his kindness toward others. He enjoyed the college atmosphere and was an avid supporter of Trapper Athletics throughout his life.
Outside of work, Eyob enjoyed time with his adopted family and remained in close touch with his birth family. He gave generously to his birth mother and relatives, determined to improve their lives. At NWC, Eyob developed friendships with athletes of varied backgrounds, knowing how important a sense of belonging can be. The spirit of Eyob’s kindness and generosity along with the devotion to his heritage birthed the Forever Kind scholarship in his name. Its purpose is to reward international students and student athletes that demonstrate perseverance, kindness and the desire to improve the lives of others while advancing their own.
