Eternal Light Cancer Scholarship

Joe and Stacey Atkinson have been involved with Northwest College in many ways. Stacey in an NWC Alumni and Joe works at NWC and has also taken classes. Over the years, three of their children have attended NWC, and the Atkinson’s have seen their children excel not only in academics but also with important life skills that have propelled them into successful careers in their respective areas.
In Aug 2019, Stacey was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through two mastectomy surgeries, radiation, and chemo. During this time, the Atkinson’s oldest was studying at Northwest and helping him with funds wasn’t easy. After her medical challenges were over, Stacey wanted to fund a scholarship for children whose parents or caretakers were dealing with cancer to help alleviate their burden in a small way.
