Doris Scott Kitchen Memorial Scholarship
Mark Kitchen’s mother was a believer in the power of education and knew it was essential for her children. Kitchen noted, “When my sister, divorced with three small children, was accepted into a college Registered Nursing program, my mother cared for my nieces and nephew during the long evenings and weekends of my sister’s study and clinical sessions. She knew that helping her daughter become a nurse would provide a great stability for the young family.”
Honoring his mother with an endowed scholarship at NWC is also fitting for Mark who ‘wholeheartedly believes in Northwest College.’ Kitchen spent 42 years of his career working at Northwest, retiring in 2019 as the Vice President for College Relations. He and his wife, Sandee, continue to be dedicated supporters.
