Dick and Marge Wilder Scholarship Endowment

Dick and Marge Wilder enrolled as members of Northwest College’s first class in 1946. Marge still vividly remembers the makeshift college put together in a few rooms in the basement of Powell High School. The Wilders attended NWC for one year, and then moved on to Laramie so Dick could continue his studies in pharmacy. He finished in 1950, as part of the first graduating class from the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy.

The Wilders returned to Park County in 1951 where they owned and operated the Cody Drug for 40 years, as well as numerous other businesses. They raised five children, were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church, and participated in many community service projects. They are the only couple in Cody to have both served as President of the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. Dick served as a member of the Northwest College Foundation Board, and both he and Marge are proud of NWC and its role in their success.
In 2008, Dick and Marge established a NWC scholarship to acknowledge the educational base the two of them gained at NWC, and to share that same strong foundation with other aspiring students, especially those interested in history or pre-pharmacy.
