Diane E. Bonner Memorial Art Scholarship

Diane E. Bonner Memorial Art Scholarship

Diane E. Bonner was a colorist at heart. She held a B.A. degree in art from the University of Wyoming (1962), formal training that sharpened her natural creativity. Her bold work played out in the use of distinguishing vivid colors in an array of fields—paintings, home decorating, package wrapping, hand-painted furniture, advertising and graphic design and even on the streets of Powell in the red sidewalks of downtown. (She was the design chairwoman of Powell’s 1994 downtown redevelopment project.)Diane died in 2001. The memorial scholarship was established by her family to encourage others to pursue art education. Diane knew firsthand and admired the quality of Northwest College’s art department through the years. Her son, Toby Bonner, earned an A.A. degree in art at NWC on the way to his B.F.A. degree at the University of Wyoming
