Daniel B and Lynn H Bennion LDS Scholarship

For Dan and Lynn Bennion, funding an LDS Scholarship at Northwest College was an easy decision. Lynn is an alumna from 1972, having followed in the footsteps of her mother, Ruby Hopkin, who was a member of the first NWC class in 1946. Dan operated a construction business in Powell and valued the economic impact of the college to the community, plus he also worked on some projects for NWC. The Bennions served with the LDS single ward through the years and enjoyed working with the students. Several of their children also attended Northwest.
‘Education is never wasted,’ noted Lynn. ‘Northwest College is a good starting place for further education, to practice skills, to expand your circle of friends and your thinking.’
Dan passed away suddenly from pancreatic cancer in 2024. His loss leaves a big hole in the family and community, but Lynn is thankful his name and memory will be honored through this scholarship into the future.
