Courtney V and Jean S Fletcher Scholarship Endowment

Dr. Courtney V. Fletcher and Jean Stanius Fletcher established this scholarship to support students pursuing careers in the health sciences, with a particular emphasis on pharmacy.

Courtney grew up in Greybull, Wyoming and is a graduate of Northwest College, the University of Wyoming and the University of Minnesota. Jean earned her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Fletcher enjoyed a distinguished career in academic pharmacy and clinical drug development. His research in the clinical pharmacology of antiviral agents received continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health. He was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in recognition of his significant contributions to antiviral pharmacology, particularly for identifying mechanisms of variable drug response.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fletcher held faculty positions at Drake University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He served as Dean of the UNMC College of Pharmacy from 2007 to 2019.

Jan practiced hospital pharmacy with a focus on sterile product preparation, parenteral nutrition, intravenous admixtures, and chemotherapy for both children and adults.

This scholarship supports students who are residents of the State of Wyoming with preference to students from the Big Horn Basin. Preference will also be given to students pursuing a degree in pharmacy and in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship reflects the commitment of Courtney and Jean Fletcher to expanding access to education and strengthening the pipeline of healthcare providers serving Wyoming and beyond.
