Clay Miller Electrical Apprenticeship Scholarship Endowment
When Clay Miller passed away, his wife Dianne and family dedicated his memorial funds to creating the Clay Miller Electrical Apprentice Scholarship.
Clay was a Master Electrician, and in 1977 he started Clay’s Electrical Service (later Prime Power and Communications) in Powell. Through his business he provided employment opportunities to many and electrical services to individuals, oil companies, and power companies throughout Wyoming and Montana. He had several other successful business ventures for which he was once named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce. Until his death, he served on the board of directors of both Garland Light and Power and Tri-State Generation and Transmission.
Clay believed in making opportunities for technical education available to students who were not interested in the traditional higher education track. He understood and valued how skilled tradespeople contribute to a healthy economy in a small town like Powell.
Students in the Northwest College Electrical Apprenticeship program will continue to benefit from Clay’s spirit. This scholarship is a lasting legacy honoring his generosity, his belief in technical education and of his service to his community.
